Hair Care down the Generations

Today’s Daily Word Prompt has definitely got me feeling old but nevertheless I know that feeling young at heart is more important to stay young for ever.

Coming to the topic of generation, there is a lot that I can discuss about..

  • It can be about how the upcoming generation is smart
  • How our generation is still struggling to find jobs
  • The technology that our generation grew up using
  • The generation my parents are from
  • The definition of love, relationships  and marriage chaging from generation to generation
  • The song Bob Sinclar

…and so on.

But today I shall let you in to a hair care secret that has been passed of from generations in my family. My students and my friends keep telling me how pretty my lock locks are and wish to have hair like mine. So many of them have asked me about my hair care routine and I am tired of repeating the same to everyone.

So, I have decided to share with all of you the secret behind my lovely hair that my previous generations have blessed me with. Looks like the secret isn’t a secret any more. 😛
I am sure It would have been something that you would have already heard of.
Without further ado, let me tell you the secret behind my long & shiny hair.

What you need:

  • 2 bowls
  • Castor oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Almond oil

Instructions:

Take the small bowl and add the castor oil , coconut oil  and almond oil in the ratio of 2:1:1.
As castor oil is very think in consistency, it makes it difficult to mix the other two oils. To make it an easier task for yourself, take another blow which is comparatively larger than the bowl which contains the mixture.
Then add sufficient amount of boiling water in the large bowl.
Slowly take the mixture bowl and place it in the boiling water.
After 5 minutes, take the mixture bowl out of the water and stir a little for the oils to blend.
Now that the mixture is ready, You can apply it in the roots of your hair.
Keep this mixture for a minimum of 1 hour followed by your head bath.
If you wish to you keep it over night and then have your head bath the next day.

You can do this once a week, fortnightly or monthly. That depends on you and how much time can you spend on your hair care routine.

Now many of you would be having an oily skin like me and cannot afford to do something like this. What I usually do to not let that hair oil come on to my face is that I tie my hair up in a towel or a cloth. There are days when I just use my old t-shirts instead of towel. This has worked pretty well for me. You can try it too. 🙂

Remember, do not heat the mixture in the microwave or the oven. Do not even think of directly heating it over the flame.
